One of the goals for this new IAL site is to provide uniform quality across all the technologies offered to interested developers and users. This will ensure a consistent, positive experience for those who enjoy these technologies.

Release Definitions

Technologies on our site are at different stages of development and maturity. Some technologies have been tested thoroughly on many platforms while other technologies are very new and have only been tested on a few, selected platforms. Each technology has a statement at the top of the page noting its release level.
The following are descriptions of these levels.

• Exploratory Technology (ET)
  The Exploratory Technologies are cutting-edge ideas or concepts that are delivered to early adopters for review and feedback. These technologies are developed by IAL engineers with the intent of learning more about the user's experience and how these technologies are employed. Your feedback on these Experimental Technologies is valued and appreciated.

• Marketing Demo (MD)
  A marketing demo is a password-protected alpha release developed to showcase a preliminary version of a core capability to potential customers for early evaluation and feedback. The technologies at this release level are only available to specific users who have authorized access. These will not be displayed nor made available to the general public at this time.

• Feature Release (FR)
  A feature release is a password-protected technical beta release developed to allow technical evaluations by developers and to gather feedback on a feature set. The technologies at this release level are only available to specific users who have authorized access. These will not be displayed nor made available to the general public at this time.

• Marketing Release (MR)
  A marketing release is a fully-featured trial beta release that is available to the general public. MR level technologies are listed in the Technology Directory and are made available to all users of the IAL site. Developers are encouraged to fully experience these technologies and consider them for implementation
  into their products.

• Release to Manufacturing (RTM)
  An RTM release is a mature technology that is fully featured, has been fully tested and is fully supported. RTM level technologies are listed in the Technology Directory and are made available to all users of the IAL site. Developers are encouraged to fully experience these technologies and consider them for implementation into their products.
